Don't download. Don't pay.

    1. there is absolutely no way? because my ipod was stuck on the apple loading menu so I restored it to factory settings, so is there no way now to jailbreak, ever? I would be very mad and very sad if that was the case.

    2. If you had your iPhone jailbroken before you updated to 6.1.3, and you used TinyUmbrella to save your .shsh blobs, then you can. If not, you're out of luck.

      Delete
    3. Wrong... YOU cannot downgrade because the DIGITAL SIGNING SIGNATURES are expired on the previous iOS versions. Doesn't matter if you have your blobs or not.

      Delete
    4. not possible. ive tried with tiny umbrella...itunes shift restore with the 6.1.2 firmware and it always rejects it. im a tec. and do jailbreaks everyday. my advice is to wait for the untethered jailbreak from envasion. it will be out soon. or it will be out when apple releases 7.0.0

      Delete
    5. Everyone is wrong here. The Digital Signing Signature is off for 6.1.2 and below BUT if you have SHSH blobs for any of those firmwares for the iPhone 4 iPod Touch 4 and iPhone 3GS you CAN restore. Even if you dont get TinyUmbrella plug in your iphone and click Show All SHSH. Then click save SHSH and you may or may not get 6.1.2 I got my 6.1.2SHSH blobs for my iPod touch 5G but they arent helpful to me. USe redsn0w to stitch the SHSH blobs to the ios and then restore. Then use evasi0n and youre jailbroken

    5. YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE FROM 6.1.3!! Apple blocked the signing signatures on all iOS versions. The above steps would normally work IF the digital signatures on the iOS version were still open but they are not, so it will not work!

    1. Yes, u can. U just have to download ios 6.1.2 firmware somewhere online and once u have it u can go to itunes, hold shift and click something like install update and it will give u the option of installing a custom firmware.
U can find the firmware in lots of places including the jailbreak websites. I cant check it right now for u, coz its kind of a pain looking for that kind of stuff on an ipad.
but there are some video tutorials u can watch on youtube.
If u still have troubles u can send me a message or something and ill help u

    4. I have a 3Gs unfortunately updated to 6.1.3, BB 05.16.08, New iBoot. Been doing a lot of research but really stuck on downgrading it back to 6.1.2, to JB and then unlock.
In iTunes: "The iPhone could not be restored." Then I added #s to the host file and it restored but to 6.1.3.
Now in iTunes: "We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time."
In redsn0w trying to restore to 6.1.2: "Waiting for device..." and apple logo stuck.
      Please someone advise.

  15. I have a stupid question. I'm a new Apple owner and don't know a thing about jailbreak. My phone runs iOs 6.1.2. and have been jailbroken, so if I update it to 6.1.3, I will loose my jailbrake? And if I loose, what means that for me? I'm affraid of that this is my only chance, because it doesn't work. If my battery is at or below 90 % the phone shuts down if I want to run an app or something, and at 80% I can't make even calls. Have anyone these problems too, or just the return to the default settings will help me? (the phone has totally new battery now) Sorry for my english, I know it's not good.

    1. You didn't mentioned what Apple device do you have. Supossing it's an iPhone 4S or 5 , if you restore it to factory, you will loose any chance to jailbreak it again. If it's 3GS or 4 , you will have the chance to jailbreak it but every time you turned it off you will need to connect it to a computer to turn it on again. Whatever, my opinion is to try to jailbreak it again in the situation you are now.

      Delete
    2. if you upgrade now to 6.1.3 you will loose your jailbreak and there's no jailbreak for this fw as of this time. however, by upgrading to the current fw it might fix your battery problem. but the risk will also fall into the fact that IF your phone is unlocked using ultrasnow from cydia, you will surely end up with an updated and locked iphone which may not work with your sim.

    1. replace the battery.
be very careful with the battery reference.

you actually probably (i'm sure 95%) has a APN 616-0435 battery.
      replace with a 616-0432 or 616-0434 battery.

616-0435 are very very bad, sometimes even new.

      Delete
    2. Probably is the battery fault. But anyway, even if you update, you can restore to 6.1.2. You have to save the shsh blobs to your computer. Also you can unlock your 3GS if you update. 6.1.3 for 3GS is jailbreakable but tethered, that means turning off the phone, when you turn it on, you will have to do it through pc. Anyway, the ideea is that 3GS has all the possibilities to be restored to an earlier version, to be jailbreaked, unlocked, even in 6.1.3 iOS.

      Delete
  17. Just a simple question :

why was it mandatory to save the BLOBS (shsh & apticket) if it is not possible to restore to 6.1.2...

Actually I thought Tinyumbrella could do it... What mechanisme avoid restore ????

(wasn't apple signing replaced by TSS service locally with tinyumbrella ???)

  19. Are you people actually serious there is no jailbreak for 6.1.3 and i dont think there will be because they are not gonna waste the security flaws they have for an update that does absolutely nothing for any phone what so ever, there also is no downgrade even if u saved your blobs, so stop asking. they are waiting for ios 7 for the next jailbreak.

  25. For Iphone 4 or older : umm found something interesting ") Steps (for Mac and PC users):
    1. Download the latest version of Redsn0w (Here:
Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content
    :
Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content
    ) and run the utility.

    2. Connect the iPhone or iPod touch to your computer via a standard 30-pin USB cable and click “Extras” inside Redsn0w.
    3. Click “Select IPSW” and point the selection window toward your iOS 6.0 IPSW, not 6.1.3 - we’re employing a basic workaround for this Jailbreak tutorial.
    4. Once the IPSW has been successfully identified, click “OK,” navigate back to the main Redsn0w screen and click the “Jailbreak” button.
    5. Ensure that the option to “Install Cydia” has been checked by default and enter DFU mode by following the simple steps listed below:
Press and hold both the home and power buttons for a total of ten seconds.
Release the power button and continue holding the home button for an additional ten to fifteen seconds.
    6. After the Jailbreak process has finished and your iPhone or iPod touch has booted up again (the video is an excellent indicator of approximately how long the entire process should take), close Redsn0w and re-open the utility.
    7. Like before, navigate to “Extras,” “Select IPSW” and browse for the iOS 6.0 firmware file. Click “OK” to the prompt, select the option to “Just boot” and enter DFU mode by following the instructions found in the fifth step.
Congratulations, once your device reboots again, you will have a Tethered Jailbreak on iOS 6.1.3!
    -
    -
    Now to SemiUNTether it
Note: SemiUNtether means on boot You have limited Functionality
Until you Plug into Redsn0w and Use the "Just Boot" option again
    1.Open Cydia
2.Go to manage tab - Click sources - Click Edit - Then add
    3. Add this source -
Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content
4.Once added click the source in the manage tab
And click the only thing there " SemiTether "
    and download the package
Note: After downloading SemiTether You must reboot device - DO NOT DO IT THROUGH CYDIA
Now hold down the power Button and now enter DFU Mode again
    &
go into redsn0w and Do the " Just Boot "
AND Now walla! You are done

  54. Hi,

Recently I came across some great articles on your site.
The other day, I was discussing (http://www.evad3rs.net/2013/03/ios-613-untethered-jailbreak.html)with my colleagues and they suggested I submit an article of my own. Your site is just perfect for what I have written!
Would it be ok to submit the article? It is free of charge, of course!

Let me know what you think

    2. 3Gs USERS on 4.1: DO NOT DIRECT UPDATE with iTunes.

READ as much as you can about using redsnow to PRESERVE YOUR BASEBAND.
This will let you unlock at higher iOS versions.

You need redsn0w to preserve your baseband, and create a custom .ipsw for you. But I think now that 6.1.3 is out, you will only have available the tethered jailbreak option.

Hi guys/girls, i have an iPhone 4S, when i updated on ios 6.2, i couldn't activate WiFi, it was appeared grey, I tried resetting WiFi with no result, restoring, restoring on a new laptop as a new device and again no solution. The battery consumption was increased A LOT, and while i was using an app its temperature was rising A LOT. Updating to ios 6.3 the problem solved. Now it appeared again and i cant find a solution. The only thing i found solving the problem is to put it in the fridge to -2 Celsius, for 10-15 min, and i have WiFi for 30 min. Does anyone know the solution??? If i do the jail break will it solve my problem?
    Thanks

  93. You cannot upgrade to any ios version EXCEPT 6.1.3 even using SHSH blobs. Apple will not recognize it. You will be forced to update all the way to 6.1.3. - EVEN if you are updating from 5.1.1. If you have an iphone 4S and UP, you cannot jailbreak 6.1.3 and you cannot downgrade to 6.1.2. Evand3rs (despite that wonderful poll on the right) will not be releasing a JB for 4S & up on 6.1.3 so you will be stuck until the next IOS release (http://www.evad3rs.net/2013/03/ios-613-untethered-jailbreak-breaking.html). This has been confirmed by Pod2g and looks like we won't see any new JB's until 7.0 or 7.1 which is scheduled for release sometime around August. Don't pin your hopes on the time frame tho - We all know that Apple will announce a release and then have us waiting longer than they claimed.

If you have problems with Cydia sources blanking out, disappearing, or giving you the "WOW, you exceeded the number of package names this APT is capable of" error - then uninstall sources (repo's) until it goes away. You DO NOT NEED TO RE-INSTALL CYDIA OR RESTORE YOUR IDEVICE. If you are on Cydia version 1.1.6 you can update Cydia to 1.1.8 following this guide http://iphonehackiosdev.blogspot.com/p/how-to-update-cydia-to-1.html - that may also help fix some errors. If you need to re-install CYDIA, you can do so by following this guide:

Step 1) Download the correct Cydia .deb and place it somewhere easily accessible on your computer.

Step 2) Plug in your iDevice to your computer and open your SSH program.

Step 3) If you are using iFunbox, navigate to Raw File System/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall. (Note, if you don't have Cydia/AutoInstall folders, create them. THESE ARE CASE SENSITIVE!!!)

If you are using iPhone Explorer (Or some other SSH software), navigate to Root Directory/var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall. Again, if they are not there, create them. Remember they are Case Sensitive.

Step 4) Take the Cydia .deb you downloaded earlier and drop it in the AutoInstall folder via your SSH software.

    Step 5) Reboot your iDevice.

And boom, Cydia works all of a sudden :-)

    So, in summary:

    1. NO NEW JB until 7.0 or 7.1
    2. DO NOT UPGRADE TO 6.1.3 on 4S or above - you will be stuck without a JB for the next several MONTHS.
    3. IF you are FORCED to upgrade/restore due to system issues to 6.1.3 on a 4S or up device - YOU CANNOT DOWNGRADE! You will be stuck without a JB for the next several MONTHS.
    4. SHSH BLOBS CANNOT HELP YOU.
    5. STITCHED IOS CANNOT HELP YOU on a 4S and up device - verify will FAIL EVERY TIME even if you change the HOST FILE.
    6. The TETHERED 6.1.3 JB is ONLY for PRE 4S DEVICES.
    7. Fix CYDIA errors by UPDATING CYDIA or deleting repo's. If you cannot get into Cydia to delete repo's (sources), you can manually remove them: go to ect/apt/source.list.d and edit the Cydia.list with Notepad or any other text editor by removing one source at a time and rebooting.
    8. If 7 does not fix your Cydia errors, Go to var/lib/apt/lists and delete everything EXCEPT the partial folder.
    9. If 8 does not fix your Cydia errors and you have SBSettings, open it and go to Power>Safe Mode. This will respiring your iDevice with all your tweaks disabled. Then try to open Cydia. If it opens, go ahead and remove the last apps or sources you remember installing before Cydia stopped working one by one.
    10. If 9 fails, re-install Cydia.

Really hope that helps clear things up and offers a little help.

    ReplyDelete
  98. You know what's REALLY annoying? The Evaders claim that a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 is too much work...
We already know that they have all of the exploits they need to create another jailbreak, they just won't.

We also know that they don't want to reveal the exploits until iOS 7 in case Apple patch them.
Apple are obviously going to be looking for them if the Evaders have announced that they've found them! They're most likely going to be patched anyway! Or what if Apple just do what they did last time and hire a jailbreaker to patch iOS 7?

So, in summary, every reason that the Evaders have for not releasing a jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 is invalid. Please just release what you already have and make everyone happy!

  103. I have an Apple iPhone 3GS, which I got through AT&T in the USA in September 2009. In late 2010, I moved to the UK and cancelled my plan with AT&T. I unlocked and jailbroke the phone so that I could using it. As part of the process, I think I changed the baseband and the ios to 4.2.1. I then bought a pay as you go SIM card from O2 in the UK.

For about two years, I didn't update the ios because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to use my phone anymore. Then last week, like a wally, I updated my ios to 6.1.3. I am now stuck with a grey screen with "iPhone" written in white in the middle. "No Service" shows in the top left corner. The phone no longer picks up wifi or O2's phone signal.

I have tried to get the phone working again many different ways through iTunes and by reading articles on the Internet. I've also restored the phone at least 20 times now also and wasted about 40 pounds by paying a dodgy company for a solution.

I keep getting the following error message in itunes:

“We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time. Please try again later, or contact customer care.”

On my device, I go through a step-by-step procedure where I state my language (English), country (I’ve tried using USA and UK), but then I can’t get any further because I can’t connect to wifi.

Unfortunately I lack the ability to fix this problem by myself and I cannot afford to pay anyone else any money to do the work for me.

Can anyone provide any information or advice on my situation and possible solutions?

Please assume that I have no technical knowledge at all.

I would really appreciate and be grateful for your guidance.

    next steps:

    Denis MijatovicMarch 21, 2013 at 8:59 PM

  107. So, no one is really answering my problem. I have an iphone 5 on ios 6.1.2, jailbroken, and I want to wipe and restore my device to 6.1.2. I understand the downgrade process is broken in ios 6.1.3, but has the ability to get "blobs" and whatnot still valid if I have "iSHSHit" from cydia and I'm looking to reinstall the same os? I just need a clean install, and the process of going 3/4 of the way only to find I now have a paperweight unless I update to 6.1.3 isn't something I want to fling myself into blindly.
