Search for photos on devices running iOS 12 is built on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Last year, the user could search for pictures of people, places and different objects by keywords. In 2018, a search for combined queries was added to this list.

This means that a person can simultaneously search for the contact’s name, date, place and also some object present in the photo. In the search results there will appear pictures that meet the specified criteria. Combined queries are also saved for reuse.

If you have a large photo library or you just installed iOS 12, the search will not show all the results. We advise you to wait for the completion of the process of indexing and downloading the iCloud library.
