Foxconn is Apple’s main manufacturer. One of the consequences of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak was the delay in production of the iPhone 9. Due to supply problems and broken factories, Apple had to postpone the launch of a new inexpensive iPhone several times.
The founder of Foxconn, Terry GOU, made an official statement that the resumption of operations of Foxconn plants in China is going according to plan. The production rate exceeded expectations.
He noted that in the near future, Foxconn plans to reach the usual level of production. However, the decline in consumer demand due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak will affect the company’s and its partners ‘ profits. Foxconn’s revenue fell by more than $ 1.6 billion in February due to business closures and the need to send workers home.
It is worth noting that for the first time in a few weeks in China, less than 10 people are infected with the coronavirus per day. The country announced that it had successfully overcome the worst phase of the outbreak.
Life in China is gradually returning to normal. Companies and factories are reopening. However, in some countries, the coronavirus has only just arrived.
